Harry N. Seymour, Ph.D., is an award winning artist whose works reflect
an eclectic array of subject matter and techniques. His African American experience influences the unique compositions and
thoughtful representions. Seymour has spent many summers enjoying
the beauty and tranquility of Martha’s Vineyard which is the inspirational source for much of his current art.
However, Martha's Vineyard is simply one source providing the background for Seymour to depict emotions -either displayed
by the subjects in his paintings or the reaction of those viewing his work. He does not simply paint things or objects but
feelings and emotions. Noted for
his scratchboard etchings, impressionistic
egg tempera, casein and
oil paintings, Seymour's art is shown on Martha' Vineyard at the Carol Craven Gallery in Vineyard Haven (cravengallery.com),
